🎉 An Incredible Day of Innovation! 🎮🎶
What happens when you give 7th graders a Makey Makey, some everyday objects, and a challenge to create something amazing? You get tissue box game controllers, straw joysticks, and pianos made from cups of water! 🤯
The students showcased their interactive projects, and nearly 400 students and staff came through our STEM Lab to see their creativity in action.
The students' ability to turn simple materials into working inventions using circuits and conductivity was truly inspiring!

They have advanced to the state showcase and will be presenting their design in Columbus to NASA engineers, researchers, and leaders in the space industry.
We commend them on their hard work and creativity designing a dehumidifier to help conserve water in both space, as well as, where water might be scarce on Earth.
Good luck girls! We are so proud of you!

A huge thank you to all who have donated to our shoe drive!! We are down to just 6 school days left to collect. We are in need of 35 bags of 25 pairs of shoes to meet our goal. Reach out to grandparents, aunts, uncles, family and friends for their old stinky shoes! 😜
Deadline is Friday, March 7th by 3:00pm. 💜💛

Help!
The 7th graders are leading amazing things!!
They are partnering with GoOttawa to beautify the alleyway across from the Courthouse.
They have come up with a vision, have located a construction team to help build, have budgeted, and are now working on figuring out the details.
They are hoping this post may aid them find a business partner that might help make their vision a reality.
They are in need of materials! Could be scrap wood or scratch and dent metal.
Email the group at burgei.m@ottawaglandorf.org to chat!
THANKS!

Last week our K-8 students paired up to make bead buddies for Random Acts of Kindness Week. The bead buddies can attach to backpacks as a reminder that a simple way to spread kindness is to acknowledge others and smile🤩. Also, last Thursday was Kickback to Kindness 80's day. We asked students to think of a time in the past when someone went out of their way to be kind to them. We challenged them to do the same for someone else. 💜💛

Yesterday Dragon Nation rocked the school day beach style. It was a good reminder not to take life too serious, to ride the waves and to make your own sunshine. All the smiles, excitement, and fun were a much needed break from the winter weather. Thank you to our awesome staff for their creative ideas and hard work in making a cold February day a great day to learn at the beach!💜🦀🐠🐬💛
