Today, Van Wright from BGSU, came to visit the seniors in our College Experience class to give us all the in's and out's of college. He shared important tips for how to succeed in college, and more importantly impressed upon the students that there are no limits to how successful they can be in life if they put in the hard work to get there! 2024 Homecoming
As part of Putnam County Manufacturing Day, our OGHS career prep seniors were invited to visit and tour Endera and ADS Recycling this morning. We learned about the importance of soft skills in the workplace and got to experience first hand the work that is done daily at these organizations. Thank you to these manufacturers for allowing us to visit today, and a huge shout out to Karl Schimmoeller and his team at the Workforce Partnership of Putnam County for giving our students this opportunity!
The OG class of 2025 along with great support from Phantasm Designs are offering T-shirts to support Zach Bowers and his family! Zach is currently at the James in Columbus battling acute leukemia. We want Zach and his family to know that we are fighting right alongside him and are sending strength, love, and positive energy his way. Congratulations to OG Senior Brandon Gerding on being named to the Commended Students in the 2025 National Merit Scholarship Program. Brandon was presented with a Letter of Commendation by High School Principal Ann Ellerbrock from the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation. About 34,000 Commended Students, throughout the nation, are being recognized for their exceptional academic promise. Those named Commended Students have demonstrated outstanding potential for academic success and are being recognized for their accomplishments. Way to go, Brandon! Jill Trinko, Jase Utrup and Brandon Gerding (L to R) have been recognized as National Recognition Awardee's for their excellent performance on the PSAT/NMSQT. These three students are being recognized for having an excellent academic record and scoring in the top 10% among all PSAT/NMSQT test takers in the 11th grade in Ohio. Yesterday, the Ottawa-Glandorf School Counselors joined forces with fellow Putnam County Counselors to support the students across our county in spreading awareness for suicide prevention. It was great 5K event raising awareness and support for individuals in our county. We were so happy to see many of our Ottawa-Glandorf students out participating!
